Linda Awuah is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio, who is qualified to practice in primary care; diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, and adults. Linda Awuah has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for about 5 years and sees patients full-time at Elite Walk-in Clinic, an Avant Garde clinic focused providing access to underserved communities. Special areas of interest are obesity & emotional eating, some of her practice specialties focuses on preventive care and monitoring complex long-term health conditions like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid, cholesterol, mental health conditions including but not limited to ADHD, depression, Anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia.
Linda began her nursing career 11 years ago in hospitals focusing on medical surgical nursing. She attended Long Island University, in Brooklyn, New York, then moved to Dayton, Ohio where she pursued her interest in nursing at Wright State University’s Miami Valley College of Nursing graduating with honors in Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with a minor in Psychology. While working in the Hematology surgical intensive care unit at Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital and medical surgical unit in Select Specialty Hospital, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with honors in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Her professional career has been in focused on urgent cares around Central Ohio and has been involved in the continuum of caring for patients and having a positive impact on their lives. She worked with a group of professionals where she gained tremendous medical experience. She has a variety of medical skills, interests, and can focus on the special needs of patients. She has passion in the underserved population, women, and children's health. She also focuses on teaching patients about maintaining a balance for optimal health.
Linda is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners; Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing; and was inducted into Psi Chi National Honor Society of Psychology.
